Verdachte dodelijke schietincidenten Rotterdam langer vast en psychisch onderzocht

De 32-jarige Rotterdammer die vastzit op verdenking van betrokkenheid bij de twee schietincidenten en brandstichtingen op het Heiman Dullaertplein en het Erasmus MC in Rotterdam blijft 90 dagen langer vastzitten, zo heeft de rechter bepaald. De verdachte wordt in het Pieter Baan Centrum onderzocht om zijn psychische gesteldheid exact in kaart te brengen.

De Rotterdammer wordt naast drievoudige moord en brandstichting ook verdacht van verboden wapenbezit. Dit is een voorlopige tenlastelegging. De definitieve dagvaarding kan op basis van het nog lopende onderzoek naar de incidenten op 28 september  worden uitgebreid.

Stand van zaken onderzoek
Direct na het incident is een Team Grootschalige Opsporing (TGO) onder leiding van twee officieren van justitie een onderzoek gestart. De verdachte zelf is meerdere keren verhoord. Daarnaast zijn tientallen getuigen gehoord en zijn camerabeelden veiliggesteld. Deze beelden worden samen met de verklaringen van de getuigen in combinatie met de verklaringen van de verdachte op dit moment uitgebreid geanalyseerd om exact te kunnen reconstrueren wat er gebeurd is en wanneer.

Op dit moment is het onderzoek nog in volle gang, zo wordt bijvoorbeeld geprobeerd te achterhalen hoe hij aan een vuurwapen is gekomen. Tot op heden heeft dit nog niet tot aanhoudingen geleid. Direct na het incident hebben zich heel veel getuigen gemeld bij de politie. Het onderzoeksteam van de politie en het Openbaar Ministerie bedanken deze getuigen voor hun informatie. Dit is zeer waardevol voor het onderzoek.

Beperkingen
De verdachte zat tot afgelopen donderdag in volledige beperkingen. Dit was belangrijk om het onderzoek en de verhoren zonder beïnvloeding in alle rust uit te kunnen voeren. Inmiddels zijn deze beperkingen opgeheven. De verdachte staat op 15 januari opnieuw voor de rechter. Dit zal een pro formazitting zijn. Het onderzoek is zoals gezegd nog lang niet afgerond. Om die reden kunnen op dit moment geen verdere mededelingen worden gedaan.
