Houthandel Jongeneel in lichterlaaie
ZAANDAM - Bij Houthandel Jongeneel aan de Rijshoutweg in Zaandam is vrijdagmiddag een enorme brand ontstaan. De rookpluim was vanuit de verre omtrek zichtbaar. Naast de brandweer uit Zaandam zijn meerdere korpsen aanwezig uit de omgeving. Ook diverse blusboten zijn ter plaatse. De oorzaak is een vrachtwagen die in een loods stond en vermoedelijk door kortsluiting in brand is gevlogen. Ook is er asbest vrijgekomen, maar naar verluidt heeft dit geen gevolgen voor de volksgezondheid.

Grote brand in bedrijf in Zaandam
21-4-2006 Aan de Sluispolderweg in Zaandam is vrijdag rond 17.30 uur een grote brand uitgebroken in een bedrijf.
In een houthandel vatte een vrachtwagen, die volgeladen was met hout, vlam na een kleine explosie. Volgens een brandweerman is kortsluiting de vermoedelijke oorzaak. De vlammen sloegen over naar het dak, met enorme rookwolken tot gevolg die in de wijde omgeving te zien waren. Omdat in het dak asbest zit, heeft de brandweer veiligheidsmaatregelen genomen.
De brandweer had rond 19.00 uur het vuur onder controle. Voor zover bekend zijn er geen gewonden gevallen.
