Ik heb hierover effe een lijntje uitgegooid naar over de grote plas.

Wat ik wel weet is dat .45 ACP weliswaar populair is, maar dat het zeker niet het enigste LEO-kaliber is. . 357 sig en .40 s& w zijn ook populaire bonen onder agenten en andere wapendragende functionarissen. Maar de vraag is of die ook speciaal gebrouwen worden voor de politiediensten met allerhande toeters en bellen of dat dit gewoon munitie is die van de plank af wordt getrokken bij de munitiefabrikanten.

Most LE agencies in the U.S. decide what type of cartridge they want their troops carrying based on local conditions, politics and most important, money. The local city and county agencies here order in multi hundred thousand round lots from the big manufactures of ammo based on a competitive bid system. Remington, Winchester and Federal are the big three around here with Federal being the most often ordered. By far most of the agencies order a standard jacketed hollow point and don’t go into micro management of the design of the ammo. But then agencies like mine shoot thousands of rounds a month so designing - ordering special ammo is outside the agency budget. The SWAT teams are well known for ordering match ammo but again it is a standard round made by a big manufacture. My agency went with a bid but only after competative testing of the rounds offered for sale and bought based on cost and the test results..hope that helps.

Dus in de US gewoon de standaard JHP met hooguit een uitstapje naar match munitie voor de gasten die dus echt raak moeten schieten en gewoon in bulk zonder fratsen.

Probleem is alleen dat de voorraad niet oranje munitie heel laag is.....
