First out of three for the Wasserschutzpolizei Niedersachsen On the 4th of April the first Damen Stan Patrol 2005 out of a series of 3 vessels was named and handed over in Brake.
The naming of the new vessel, named ; ‘WSP 4’ with homeport Brake, was performed by Mrs. Pund after which the vessel was officially handed over the Wasserschutzpolizei in Brake by the Minister of internal affairs of Niedersachsen, Mr. Schünemann.
The ‘WSP 4’ is the first Damen Stan Patrol 2005 delivered to the Wasserschutz polizei Niedersachsen and will later this year be followed by the second Damen Stan Patrol 2005 named ‘WSP 2’ with homeport Emden and for 2011 by the ‘WSP 1’ which will have as homeport Wilhelmshaven.
The contract of the three Damen Stan Patrols was the result of a successful European tender for which the contract was signed during the last SMM exhibition in Hamburg in 2008.
The delivery of the ‘WSP 4’ brings the total number of Damen built and delivered Police boats operating on the river Weser to three, following the earlier delivery of two Damen Police boats type Stan Tender 1605, ‘Visura’ and ‘Lesmona’ which have as homeports Bremen and Bremerhaven.

Ik verwacht dat de andere twee vaartuigen nu ook wel snel zullen worden geleverd. Het bulkwerk wordt in één keer gedaan, waarna de afronding nog moet gebeuren. Tussen de afleverdata zit dan meestal nog een maand (gelet op het verloop van de Nederlandse order).
