Boerderij uitgebrand bij Sumar

Een boerderij aan de Mienskerwei tussen Sumar en Eastermar is dinsdagnacht uitgebrand. De brand werd even voor 5.00 uur ontdekt en bij aankomst van de eerste brandweerploeg uit Burgum stond de boerderij al in lichterlaaie. Er was geen redden meer aan.

Brandweerploegen uit Burgum, Gytsjerk en Drogeham zijn ter plaatse gekomen om de brand te blussen. Het was voor de brandweer moeilijk om bluswater in de nabije omgeving te vinden. Water werd via een dompelpomp uit de haven bij de Doktersheide bij De Tike naar de boerderij gepompt. De boerderij kan als verloren worden beschouwd. Er kwam tevens een ambulance ter plaatse uit voorzorg maar bij de brand is niemand gewond geraakt. Er is volgens de politie tijdens de brand asbest vrijgekomen.
