IDF to send field hospital to Philippines for typhoon relief

After a long journey halfway across the world, the IDF rescue team has finally arrived from Israel to the storm-ravaged Philippines. Thousands are waiting for them. As we speak, the field hospital is going up. In it, 500 patients per day will be able to receive the help they need.

B-FAST Belgium en ISAR Germany hebben samen een AMP (Advanced Medical Post) opgericht op 10km van Tacloban. Daar kunnen ze allerlei verwondingen verzorgen en heelkundige ingrepen uitvoeren.
Morgen zullen ze ook drnkwater verdelen dat gemaakt wordt door hun waterzuiveringsinstallatie.

The American Academy of Pediatrics Responds[/b]

The American Academy of Pediatrics is concerned about the many children and families who have been injured, killed and displaced by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. The AAP has contacted the Philippine Pediatric Society and the Philippine Ambulatory Pediatric Association to offer assistance as they work to manage the lasting impact of the storm. As physicians in the Philippines assess their needs, the AAP is committed to providing assistance and resources.


Friends of Children Fund
The AAP is collecting donations to the Friends of Children Fund to aid in disaster relief from Typhoon Haiyan. To make a donation, visit www.aap.org/donate and select the disaster relief and preparedness fund option, or call 888/700-5378. These funds are used to help support local pediatric societies, its members, and the children and families they serve. In recent years, The Academy has used support from the Tomorrow’s Children Endowment (TCE) to teach pediatricians in the Philippines disaster preparedness skills.

Heeft volgens mij inderdaad niets met lef te maken, wel met wat het getroffen land aan hulp vraagt, en wat je eigen land dan kan leveren.

In de Filipijnen was geen search and rescue werk of toch niet voor INSARAG teams, het Blegische USAR team is ook niet vertrokken, België heeft 2 andere internationaal inzetbare modules gezonden.

Toch wel hoor, USAR.NL kan ook andere dingen dan alleen Search and Rescue. Lees maar eens de INSARAG Guidelines & Methodology op insarag.org . Dat schijnt ook aangeboden te zijn maar is nooit gevraagd door de VN. Onze minister heeft op TV meermaals gezegd alleen in te zetten op verzoek van de VN. Andere landen wachten niet af, die gaan gewoon......

België heeft ook gewacht op officiële vraag hoor, dat staat zo ook in de procedures van B-FAST.
Men dacht hier ook eerst dat de vraag pas maandag zou komen maar de vraag is dan toch vroeger gesteld door het getroffen land.
