Unidentified fighters have attacked several police patrols in drive by shootings in the southern Jordanian city of Al-Karak, killing at least five people, according to security officials.Heavy fighting was reported after Sunday's attacks, as witnesses posted purported amateur videos and images of the shootings on social media.

Gunmen have attacked police patrols in the Jordanian city of Karak killing five people and injuring several others, security sources say.Security sources said a female Canadian tourist was among the dead.
Police in the mountainous city, 120km south of the capital Amman, freed 10 people, including foreign tourists, but some were still being held on Sunday in the Crusader-era castle from where the fighters shot at security forces who were surrounding it, a security source said.

De vier terroristen die gisteren werden doodgeschoten in de Jordaanse stad Karak waren van plan om meer aanslagen te plegen. Dat zegt minister Salamah Hammad van Binnenlandse Zaken.Hij denkt dat de bomgordels die bij hun lichamen lagen, waren bedoeld voor nieuwe aanvallen.
