I.h.k.v. het visitor programme kon je je interesse aangeven om hiervan gebruik te willen maken d.m.v. het invullen van een web form, waarbij ook een motivatie gegeven moest worden. Dat wilde echter nog niet zeggen dat je ook uitgenodigd zou worden.
Aan mij volgde eind januari een positief antwoord, dus ik ga er heen.
Wat info uit twee mails die ik ontvangen heb en jullie niet wil onthouden:
To give you a very brief glimpse into the scale of this exercise there will be over 2,000 responders from London, national and international teams, 2,500 casualties over the course of the four days, 200+ facilitators and exercise staff and over 400 visitors to the exercise. You will get to see some of the logistics and background to the exercise, the live scenario site and USAR operations, the follow up care to survivors and casualties within the Humanitarian Assistance Centre or on scene medical facilities, the treatment of fatalities within a Temporary Disaster Mortuary and see the scale and complexity of the on site operations of an international USAR operation.
Visit Expectations.
Please be aware that you will be visiting a highly realistic recreation of a building collapse on top of underground trains and will be exposed to the wreckage casualties with simulated make up and injuries.
Parts of the visit will involve transiting permanent gantries at height (approximately second floor height) and there are a number of stairs to be climbed during the visit.
There may also be an opportunity to enter some of the train carriages during the visit if you wish to do so. This will be dependent on the response activity at the time of the visit.
