Bij het afvalbedrijf Icova aan de Kajuitweg in het Westelijk Havengebied heeft in de nacht van vrijdag op zaterdag een grote brand gewoed.
Het vuur brak even voor 3.00 uur uit in een loods met afval. Rond 4.00 uur werd het afhandelen van de brand overgedragen aan het bedrijf zelf: 'Zij hebben toen de berg afval met een shovel uit elkaar gehaald en verder afgeblust', aldus de brandweer.

De oorzaak van de brand is niet bekend.
