The Islamic State (IS) group has staged a suicide attack on a gas factory near Baghdad in which 14 people were killed and 20 wounded, Iraqi officials say.

They were hit by shrapnel from a blast in East Ekar. The General Director offered his condolences to the family of the deceased, stressing that justice will pursue those responsible. He said the crime scene team and other security authorities responded to the blast area shortly after the case was reported to the Operations Room. An investigation has been launched to identify and arrest those involved and the Public Prosecution was notified.
