At least nine people killed and 15 others wounded, in the latest in a series of attacks in the Iraqi capital.

At least nine people have been killed and 15 others wounded in a car bomb attack that hit a market in a mostly Shia neighbourhood of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

The bomb-laden car parked near an outdoor fruit and vegetable market exploded on Thursday killing seven civilians and two policemen, the Associated Press news agency reported quoting officials.

Ministry Thanks Public for Their Cooperation and Warns Against Aiding Wanted Fugitives

The Interior Ministry expresses thanks and appreciation to the public for their cooperation with police patrols and checkpoints deployed throughout the Kingdom.  The heavy security presence aims to protect security and general order.   Thanks are also extended to those who have assisted police with valuable information regarding the investigation of the jail break at the Reformation and Rehabilitation Centre (Jau) on January 1.  
 
The Interior Ministry calls upon anyone with any further information to call 999 or the police hotline at 80008008.  All calls will be treated as anonymous.
 
The Interior Ministry warns that anyone found to have aided the wanted individuals will be held legally accountable.
