Grote uitslaande brand Kinderdijkstraat

Zaterdagavond 17 februari is de brandweer uitgerukt naar een brandende bovenwoning in de Kinderdijkstraat in Amsterdam. Ten tijde van de melding was het een felle uitslaande brand.

De bewoners van de woning waar de brand woedde waren met hun kat al zelf naar buiten gegaan, evenals de bewoners van de onder- en naastgelegen woningen. De brandweer had de brand snel onder controle, maar moest ook delen van het dak open maken om de brand te kunnen blussen. De bluswerkzaamheden hebben nog zeker twee uur geduurd.

Twee bewoners hadden rook ingeademd en zijn nagekeken door het ambulancepersoneel. Eén van de twee bewoners is meegenomen naar het ziekenhuis.

De woning op de 4e etage heeft enorme schade opgelopen. Door de brand en het bluswater is een deel van het plafond van de woning op de 3e etage naar beneden gevallen. Ook de onderliggende woningen hebben veel waterschade opgelopen. Het is niet waarschijnlijk dat de bewoners van deze woningen dezelfde avond nog terug naar huis konden.

De oorzaak van de brand is niet bekend.
