A number of people are reportedly trapped in a major blaze at London's famous Camden Market, according to the London Fire Brigade.
Firefighters were alerted by a 999 call at about 7.20pm on Saturday to a fire at the north side of the market, on Chalk Farm Road.
London Ambulance Service said there are no reports of casualties so far.
Police are sealing off roads near the blaze and some houses and flats are being evacuated.
Revellers from local pubs and bars have been moved away from the danger area, where flames are leaping up to 30ft in the air.
Crowds have been dispersed because of fears there may be gas canisters within the area.
Twenty fire appliances and about 100 firefighters are in attendance.
London Ambulance Service said it has ambulances and a hazardous response team at the scene.
Jamie Megson, 31, from Merseyside, who is in London as part of a stag weekend said: "We were drinking in a pub on the High Street when all of a sudden people started leaving the pub.
"Out of curiosity we followed and managed to get quite close to the blaze, although police had already sealed off the area.
It's really gone up and there are lots of fire fighters and police.
"They've closed the pub we were in and seem to be shutting off most of Camden Town."
Camden Town is a major tourist attraction attracting up to 300,000 visitors each weekend.
