I hope this vehicle won't have to respond to a city centre, it will immediately get stuck ;D

;D It is far too big to be used in a city centre area, it always takes the wing mirrors off parked cars!

Do you know if this is a former airport fire engine? Because of the red/white rims.

No, this is the livery Bedfordshire has for their fleet, although they are changing to a more traditional colour scheme.

;D They are not common in the UK which is a shame. 90% of all emergency vehicles have the same type of electronic siren (US style) which means you cannot tell if it is fire, police or ambulance approaching.  >:(
North Wales Fire insisted that all their vehicles are fitted with Martinhorns!  :) The public cover their ears when they go by as they are not used to such a noise!  :D

I've seen that reaction many times by the public as i pass them code 3 , like yesterday evening on my way to this fire :

It brings a smile to my face every time it happens.

 ;D haha great video!!!

This is a video of two North Wales trucks going code three / prio1, the first tankautospuit is a reserve/spare vehicle, and has the older, traditional UK two-tone horns. (sorry Mods, I do not know how to embed a Youtube video)

Now this is what a fire-engine should sound like, this is "music" to my ears !! I love those UK two-tone horns, very typical and recognizable sound. Any more video's Andy ?

;D Glad you like them - I too love two-tone horns!

This is a video I filmed of a pump and our Combined Pump Platform (combination vehicle) responding from Liverpool City Fire Station.

This is another video I filmed, it is our Search & Rescue Team responding a few years back, they had a Dennis Rapier and Scania Hooklift. The Dennis Rapier is fitted with two sets of two-tone horns, when they are sounded together they are very impressive!
