IDF Aid Delegation Returns from the Philippines

After 12 days, 2686 patients, 60 surgeries, 848 children treated and 36 births, the IDF aid delegation in the Philippines has returned to Israel today (Nov. 27)

Highlights NDRRMC Sitrep # 47 (29 Nov)
- Affected: 10,956,460 persons
- Displaced (of affected): 3,811,370 persons
- In 1,093 evacuation camps (of displaced): 219,158 persons
- Not in evacuation camps (of displaced): 3,592,212 persons)
- Dead: 5,598, Injured: 26,136, Missing: 1,759
- Damaged houses: 1,168,106 (580,481 totally, 587,625 partially)
- Operations in Tacloban Airport is still limited
- The Philippine Ports Authority has taken over the Port of Tacloban.
- A total of 16 barges is now operating and travelling from Matnog, Sorsogon Port to Allen, Northern Samar, while sea crafts taking off from Bulan Port, Sorsogon to Allen, Northern Samar are solely for mercy missions

Highlights OCHA Sitrep #19 (29 Nov)
- According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC), the current death toll stands at 5,560, with another 1,757 people still missing. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) estimates that the number of displaced people is now 3.62 million, of whom an estimated 224,177 are living in 1,104 evacuation centres.
- The Multi-Cluster/Sector Initial Rapid Assessment (MIRA) are now available and the priority needs identified are 1) Immediate need to provide ongoing food assistance and access to water to all affected communities; 2) Urgent and extensive shelter requirements; 3) Recovery of livelihoods, including farming, fishing and the service industry; and 4) Restoration of WASH, education, health, protective and other community services, and management of displacement.
- Rebuilding homes is one of the top requests from those affected by the Typhoon. However, shelter materials in the local market are scarce, and in some places prices have doubled.
