Since 2014, Iraqi Red Crescent Society volunteers have been relentlessly responding to a worsening displacement crisis in Iraq, caused by the deteriorating security situation across the country. The National Society has been providing basic relief items and essential services to alleviate the suffering of the displaced, despite the fact that the protracted nature of the crisis has taken its toll on the Red Crescent’s resources.
Today, the Iraqi Red Crescent Society is also gearing up to respond to the possible collapse of the Mosul Dam, as its occurrence is expected to have destructive effects and leave behind thousands of victims.
